Shorter days and colder temps outside don't mean your season has to end - it's always warm and sunny at Lago Golf. The Lago Golf League brings competitive, team-based golf indoors in Port Coquitlam, 9-hole rounds on Foresight Sports simulators, and a season-long race for the title.

Format of Play

Team Size

Teams of two. You don't need to play together - each partner plays their own 9-hole round on the designated course during the week, and on every hole your team takes the lower of your two scores.

Scoring - 2-Person Best Ball

  • Each partner plays 9 holes of stroke play on the designated course
  • On each hole, the lower of the two partners' scores is your team's score for that hole
  • Your team's weekly score is the total of those 9 best-ball holes
  • Two divisions: Gross (raw scores) and Net (handicap strokes applied hole by hole)
  • The Foresight simulators record every hole, so we match your scores hole by hole even if you play on different days

Flexibility

  • We suggest partners play together, but each of you can come in on your own date and time during the week
  • If only one partner plays that week, their score becomes the team score
  • Most teams play together for the social side, but solo rounds count just the same

Handicaps

We start with your Golf Canada handicap, then adjust it each week using your round data at Lago Golf so it reflects your current play.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to play together every week?
No. Each partner can play on their own, and we compare your scores hole by hole. If your partner can't make it, your round still counts as the team score.
How does best ball work?
On each hole, the better of your two scores counts. If you make a 5 and your partner makes a 4, your team scores a 4. Add up all 9 holes for your weekly total.
Is there a gross and a net division?
Yes. Every team is ranked in both - using raw scores for gross and handicap-adjusted hole scores for net.
How do handicaps work?

We start with your Golf Canada handicap - but then update weekly with your round data at Lago Golf, so it updates as your game does.

Can I substitute a player onto my team?

Rosters are locked to your registered team members for the season. The only exception is injury with a doctor's note, reach out to us and we'll work with you.

How many players do we need each week?
Just one - but two is better. In best ball, each partner covers the other's bad holes.
Do both players need to be Lago Golf Members to get member pricing?
No. If one partner is a registered Lago Golf Member, your team gets the $100 member rate.
